FREEDOM!

As a person who has a passion for art, I am very thankful for the inventions of photography, and reproduction. Though I do like to draw what I see and believe that realism still has an important role to play in art (especially with art training), I am so thankful that we are no longer bound to create in that style.

I have come to find that cave men's works to be far more interesting the creations from the Renaissance. And the things created in Ancient Egypt inspire me whereas good examples of vanishing points put me to sleep. When the invention of the camera came, all of the sudden artists are no longer bound to recreate the most accurate representations. Yea! Now the possibilities are endless. Today's artist have it better than any other artist in history because they can create works in whatever style they want, and without photography they would not get that freedom.

With the new technology of reproduction now art can be available to the masses. Art is no longer put up on a pedestal, and only found in museum. It is not just something for the wealthy and “cultured” but art is what ever you want it to be. I truly believe that art can change the world. Now that so many people are exposed to it because of the fact that it is being reproduced, it is touching more people. Now that they have art in their lives they can experience this same FREEDOM.
